Former NRL Player Paul Gallen is coming out of retirement to fight retired NRL Melbourne Storm enforcer Nelson Asofa-Solomona in a heavyweight boxing bout on Friday, 6 November 2026, in Sydney.
Gallen at approximately103kg gives up roughly 15 years in age and a significant weight advantage to Asofa-Solomona, who weighed in near 140kg in his recent bout.
Gallen has criticized Asofa-Solomona in the lead-up to this bout, accusing him of breaking trust after Gallen initially helped him transition from NRL into boxing. Nelson enters the fight undefeated with wins over former NRL players Jeremy Latimore, Jarrod Wallace, and George Burgess. Gallen's last professional appearance was a split-decision victory over Sonny Bill Williams.
